Centennial Colts vs. Durham Lords

Overview

Centennial College brought me in to produce highlight coverage of a high-stakes varsity basketball game between the Centennial Colts and the Durham Lords. My goal was to capture the game’s intensity, the energy of the crowd, and the spirit of the moment — all while delivering polished footage that the school could proudly share across their digital platforms.

Challenges & Approach

Covering a fast-paced, unpredictable sporting event came with both creative and technical challenges. I had to deliver clean, dynamic visuals without disrupting gameplay. To do that, I used a multi-angle setup with handheld and gimbal-mounted cameras, which allowed me to stay close to the action while keeping movement fluid. I focused on more than just the score — capturing reactions, crowd energy, and sideline moments to tell the full story of the night.

The Result

The final video was a sharp, energetic highlight reel that captured not just the gameplay, but the emotion and atmosphere surrounding it. With tight editing and rhythmic pacing, the piece was widely shared within the Centennial community. It elevated the school’s athletics content and showed my ability to bring cinematic polish to live sports coverage — even under real-time pressure.
