Paradise Soul

Overview

Lagos in Toronto tapped me to create a recap video for Paradise Soul, a night that fused neo-soul, Afrobeats, and R&B in an intimate, electric setting. Held indoors with an elevated stage and expressive lighting, the event brought a softer, sultrier side of Afro nightlife to the fore—equal parts groove, soul, and intention. My task was to document the energy and preserve the atmosphere with elegance.

Creative Direction

With Paradise Soul, I approached the edit with a slower pace and more intentional rhythm, using rich magentas, deep shadows, and warm highlights to wrap the visuals in a velvet mood. I emphasized smooth camera movements, lingering crowd moments, and DJ closeups to reflect the magnetic pull of the night. Typography elements and light flares were integrated to complement the softness without dulling the vibrancy.

Outcome

The recap served as a strong branding piece for Lagos in Toronto—visually distinct from their previous day parties or turn-up-focused activations. It reinforced the brand’s range and deepened emotional resonance with its audience, leading to higher engagement and requests for more genre-themed events in future editions.
